Thanks everyone for the responses. The deck was thrashed. It looks great on the outside, except for the tonearm, but the motor pulley is bent :( It is so disappointing when great tables are not cared for.

I had already done that but from what I can figure out the problem is not noted in the manual. I posted some pics and the same problem in the Garrard Forum here and at Vinyl Engine. It's weird because the idler wheel looks to be in really good shape and functions like it is supposed to it...

I have a Lab 80 that I just picked up at a thrift store for $12. I cannot get the idler wheel to engage the platter. This is what I deduced from it not spinning when activated. Does anyone know what else the problem might be? Also one of the leads snapped off is that going to irreplaceable...
