2001 a space odyssey blueray

Well just got this 2001 a space odSsey blueray,all I can say is wow,what a great looking and sounding
Blueray for a great scifi flick.have the old version this 10.00 disc kicks butt.the music the sounds of the
Space craft hals voice.the black hole the red space suits.i could go on but the best 10.00 I have spent
In a long time.anyway dug out my copy of the shining and clockwork orange a real,over the top movie
It is amazing how good the picture and sound is on these remaster movies.the sound on 2001 is 5.1
On this blueray I think the original was mono.

Acc to IMDb, the sound mix was 4 track stereo for the 35mm prints and 6 track for the 70mm prints. The movie was a widescreen theater showpiece in a time when a lot of films were backing down to 1.85 blandness, so I'd be surprised if it had been mono. For whatever reason I haven't picked this up yet on video, sounds like I need to.

I see their coming out with a 4K ultra HD disc at the end of October, maybe I should get that, plus a new player and TV so I can watch it.
