7591 Tubes

Yes there was an issue with the 10 watt resistor coming off the #8 B+ pin . It was also blowing the fuse . now i have a Genalex gold lion U77/GZ34 which works very well.

If I may comment on JJ GZ34...been using one in my bone stock 222c for 11 years, no problems whatsoever, and it does get regular use.

I have used the EH tubes in my Fisher 500c for over 3 years and they have worked fine. I can not hear the difference between the old 7591 westinghouse tubes that were in it for decades. I don't have a cabinet, but the EH are taller and wider.

I've had a few JJ7591 failures but that was a while back. I've had good luck with both the EH7591 and EH7868. Haven't tried the Tung Sol.

In a MAC1500 I have used EH, JJ, Sylvania and the "holy grail" Westinghouse 7591 and in all honesty, I have a hard time distinguishing one from the other- especially since comparisons cannot be made instantaneously.

So far I have not had any issues the the EH 7591’s they sound great lots of bass and these are older .they are dated 14-02

Just replaced the JJ's in my Fisher 500C with the Tung-Sol 7591 reissues. They are a lot less noisy than the JJ's (and a lot smaller). Maybe I had a bad JJ, but I had a background rumble that is now gone. Yeah!
