A trip to The Henry Ford Museum...

Very nice. I may have to add a day to next year's Fest trip to fit that in.

.....Great Pictures, LuvvinVinyl....the wonderful Angelic expression on Leah's face said she was being photographed by someone she liked and trusted.....

The Henry Ford Museum
Open 7 days a week, 9:30-5:00, Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Greenfiled Village, next door:
January 1-April 13: Closed for the Winter Season
April 14–October 31: Open 7 days a week, 9:30am-5:00pm
November 1–December 31: Open Friday–Sunday, 9:30am-5:00pm

You can do the Village in one day, but not the Museum, at least, not do it properly. The Museum also has an IMAX theatre.

Hmmm....maybe I can talk the wife into a 3-day excursion next year.

If Nadia goes to the fest again she wanted to make it a half week trip to go there and greenfield village. She's been there and loves it.

Nice pics Ernie!!
We went down there on the 4th, so let me get the disc from Cindy and I can add a few more Rock star things. We got some nice ones of Lennon's Rolls, Bono's Trabant, and Jimmy Vaughn's Caddy, plus some Geetar pics too.
didn't get any of that 5 neck one though.
Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick) has quite a collection!!

Just found the disc.........
125 pics!!!

Here's a taste:

Thanks, Andy. It was crowded in there, and you know how narrow the aisle was. Between that and the reporter who was trying to shoot a report for one of the newscasts, getting a decent pic was tough.

Guess they aren't checking passports yet, huh.

Oh, yes, they do. I handed over my passport and told them I was going to the museum. Then this exchange occurs:

Border Guard: Whose vehicle is this?
Me: Mine
BG: What happened to the red Plymouth? (My 1993 Sundance)
Me: I sold it, and got this Montana.
BG: I see you kept the same plate. Right. OK. Where do you work?
Me: Transit Windsor.
BG: What do you do?
Me: I'm a driver.
BG: You don't drive the Tunnel Bus. (Note: This was NOT a question.)
Me: Nope, not if I can help it.
BG: That's all correct. OK, here you go. (Returns my passport) Good day.

I can only guess that one wrong answer sends me to secondary inspection, and, with one smart-ass remark, it's off to the "Cavity Search Room".

I once inadvertently responded that I lived in Massachusetts at a Canadian Border Crossing (post-9/11...at that time I lived in Connecticut, but had lived in MA for at least half of my life to that point). I was asked to step out of the car and respond to a raft of questions...all better, back on the road.

Well done Ernie.

Great pics Ernie, thanks. Looking at the seat on that Thor motorcycle I can see where it got its name, twenty miles on that and you would be thor.
