Topped it off by adding two wonderfully restored 555 brought back to life by AK’er Mayank (please see post in Feedback forum). My speakers have never sounded so good.

I know the virtues of the HDCD is controversial at best but the GDA-700 at the moment has my RTA-12C placing me in the front row of Folsom Prison listening to Johnny Cash....

Great sound for Acoustic and Jazz music or when I don’t want to wake the rest of the house. This is also an amazing budget system put together through thrift stores and estate sales.

Finally got the room cleared up a bit so you can see the end product....

Years back I had a pair of Adcom GFA-565 monoblocks in white that we're stunning in asthetics and powerhouses ,I had the matching white Adcom preamp as well but cant remember the model # ,if you want to see the coolest Adcom amp ever sign into fleabay and check out the Adcom amp some tech genius added a pair of beautiful analog VU meters to the face ,the job looks like Adcom made the amp with the meters it's such nice work,if it wasnt so overpriced I'd snag it for the cool factor .

Congrats! Good luck with the Adcom. Make sure you just keep an eye on the PS caps for leakage. When I downsized last year, I parted ways with my two GFA-585's and a Nelson Pass GFP-750 that I purchased brand new. The best combination I have ever owned. Protected everything with multiple ACE-515's. Old System Adcom.jpg

Still got 2 Adcom ACE-515 Power controls in my console, sense-slaved off the switched outlet on my Integra Preamp-Processor.
Makes the whole 7.1 system very wife-friendly, always a plus!

Nice system! I'm new here (1st post) but just added a 545II to my system as well and am in love with it. Congrats on the sweet deal too!

I am honored that you chose my thread to be the recipient of your first post on AK. As was mentioned please use the Introduction forum to tell us a little about yourself and your gear/Music interests. Congratulations on getting a 545II I'm sure you will enjoy it!!

Enjoy the Adcom, great sound!

That is the plan! One of the systems is a 4.1 set up using the 555/Von Schweikert VR2’s combo for the front speakers and a 535/Paradigm Mini Monitor for the rears, Triad Bronze Subwoofer and a Sherbourn PT 7000 as the preamp. I am listening to DVD-A version of “The Last Waltz”. Awesome sound!!

My 2535 drives the JBL 4301's. Great combo they can run on their own or as rears to the main L200t3's with the MC 2200. 2 ways rule.
