hi there, I heard that HK is a good place for second hand audio gear.

Anyone living there now, or who otherwise knows of some good shops to visit?

I am mainly interested in vintage SS brands like sansui, accuphase, etc.

We will be in Kowloon between 10-14 Jan.

Astonishing amount of new gear and a huge range of second hand gear - all out of my price range unfortunately but amazing eye candy......

Yes that is a tube Sansui AU-111 above the old fella. He wanted about 15,000 HK dollars for it.....

Its worth it for the hifi and the noodle soup alone......

not to mention the hundreds of stores selling CDs and XRCDs and SACDs. buying old
equipment is risky. HK is humid. and the voltages are different - so you'd have to know
whether a unit is multi-voltage through a back panel switch or through rewiring.

just don't buy the blurays, region appropriate, of movies yet to be theatrically released
in the US.

the better bet are the Chinese amps from the mainland. On apliu st. there's an audio
dealer that was featured in HK's greatest film trilogy: Infernal Affairs. they sell audio space
tube gear and are a friendly bunch.

and if anyone is going there, there are 2CDs I will pay $45 for (shipped to me). you can
keep whatever money you make using your silver-tongued selling tactics learned
from Ziglar and others. PM me,
