So now I will ask you the same question now that you have had the RME ADI-2 for a number of months? Does the sound "measure up" to the glowing measurements?

Well I did order one and it does work well and sound good. Build quality also good. However I’m not the right person to ask concerning how it compares to others. Have not heard many other dacs and not sure I would be able to tell / describe the difference (short of one just being really bad).

I had one for a while. sounded good but if you dont use the EQ and crossfeed features, it is too expensive or in other words, there are many sub 300 bucks AKM dacs that also sound good feeding your pre amp. i like akm dacs in general better than ESS dacs.
