Restoring an AU-9900 which was in very tough, semi-operational condition when I got it.

Its all recapped with many new transistors throughout. Works and sounds fantastic with one exception:

...the phono channels both play fine...the issue I have is when I switch to the phono channel that is NOT connected to a turntable, I hear hiss. Now the phono PCB is restored with new transistors. I used C1845's for both the C1313's as well as the C1708's. I'm wondering if these are the best choices for both since the original schematic spec'd two different devices.

I even swapped the phono board with one from another unit, that is ALL original, and I still get the hiss.

I have heard quite a few receivers and amps hiss when nothing is hooked up, or buzz when you take the headshell and cart off
