Who is recommended for repairing or rebuilding audio transformers (Hafler design in particular)?
Heyboer does some of that. For a complete job of removing the old wire and rewiring its about twice the cost of just buyiing a new one.It is the LF transformer in an Acoustat MK-121-C Hafler Red Medallion. Interleaved windings, nomex, not sure if it can be repaired or needs rewinding.
I meant a new off the shelf similar type of output transformer from them. There are no new ones AFAIK, unless David Hafler has one in his basement.
Hey fellas', David Hafler passed away a few years ago. Try Heyboer. It is designed and manufactured for this application, and just the -C Red Medallion version, not an off-the-shelf. This is why I'm looking just for a re-wind specialist.
Unless someone can get in touch with David for me, ... I'm looking for an audio transformer specialist please.
I am looking for someone to repair my McIntosh mc2100 transformer, I have a hum on my right channel, outputs were blown and the moron put in a 25amp slow blow fuse...What is the exact transformer? To help better answer the question.....
Well if I put it in mono the hum short is gone but goes into the right if in stereo. Just the switch? This thing is crazy.I am looking for someone to repair my McIntosh mc2100 transformer, I have a hum on my right channel, outputs were blown and the moron put in a 25amp slow blow fuse...
