I’ll be changing the belts in this deck. Any hints, tips, beware of’s or any other tidbits of info is appreciated. I’ve got the transport unmoored and mostly unplugged.

It’s worth doing yourself if you’re mechanically inclined. Having it done for you will be expensive just because of time taken to remove and disassemble/replace/reassemble time.

Had this apart a little over 14 months later. I had some better bearing lube, grease and ultra fine Scotch Brite here. Removed the transport, separated it, and burnished the surfaces where the belt runs. Then lacquer thinner and back together with Black Reel lube and white grease at the bearing ends. Also, greased all the plastic gears and the cams for the reel drives and the motor cam transport. Cleaned all necessary areas and it works like new.
