Paid exactly $100 for my KLH 5 pair. Elderly couple had them in Fort Wayne, Indiana - physically perfect.
Paid $11.00 for a rough pair of Jensen Model 15. Rebuilt from the bottom up... all recapped and refoamed. ..Yummy old style sound.

Good listening...

Are you a professional thief? :eek2:

Just snagged a pair of DCM QED speakers for $8 at a yard sale. They were marked $10, and I asked for $8. They're rough, but the drivers are in good shape and they came with the original boxes. Getting to the crossover is going to be a bear though, everything is sealed with some kind of thick black adhesive. Top, bottom, drivers, everything. No screws for access either. It's going to be fun getting these open without ruining them...

Charles.

This is all complete BS unless you can provide absolute proof. Klipschorns for $20? Not on this planet.
Oh, Absolutely. I have pulled more electronics out of the waste stream in the last 25 years that I can remember.
JBL L166
JBL L100
Multiple ARs
Bose 901s need refoaming
ADS 100s
Polks multiple
And thats just speakers
Macintosh monoblocs
another pair of tube monoblocs
Kenwood 9600
dozens of silver face receivers and turntables
Revox A77
Crown power amp
and literally more stuff than you could imagine. I have a friend who had a custom audio shop. I gave him everything I found he would check out and repair anything I wanted to keep. I got spoiled for sure. I retired last year but I went into one of the facilities today and there on the floor were a nice pair of Klipsch Heresys. Go figure. Someone paid 5 bucks to toss them. I couldn't resist and tossed em in my truck. My be I'll use them but I doubt it. These days it's earphones as my hearings pretty shot from growing up it the 60s. It's amazing whats out there keep looking and the strangest stuff will show up.

Whats your best speaker score under $100 bucks? can be any size, age, brand, etc and put how much you paid, and let's see who got the best deal ever!

In my pic above, is also a pair of Clearfield Continentals, early von Schwiekert, and together with the VAC Pre, the Counterpoint amp, and Synergistic cables, I paid $300 so the Clearfields themselves came in under $100

Many pages back I posted my Imperial 6s that I paid I think $60 for and since then I have found lots of great speakers for under $100.

Most recently (last week) I picked up these Sansui SP1000s from the original owner for $60 in very nice condition.

And last month I snagged these W60Ds from an estate sale for $40......but I sold them Sunday to a local Indie record store as I was not that impressed with them.

Late last year I got these Sansui SP 70s for $70. It took me a while to get into them but now I really like them.

And now I have them stacked on the 1000s, but not on the same receiver.

If this is USD then approx $80! They in excellent condition including mint grills! HPM-100

High end speakers are the one "scroe" I rarely find in my area.

Best I've done is a pair of Bose 301 III for $30/pair, and a matching set of 201's for another $20. Use the latter for the surround speaker.

Also picked up a couple of pairs of BW110i for around $25/pair.

I have also picked up various RS Minimus 7 in their various versions for cheap, but who hasn't?
