It has been a little surprising how old and new, cheap and expensive, store-bought (mostly used!) and DIY seem to get along together if you experiment, choose carefully and keep the blinders off.
I'm sitting here this evening pondering a move to DSD256 up-scaling (true bleeding edge) while adjusting the hum-pots on this SET amp because I just put my favorite pair of 70yr old tubes in - it IS a different approach to this hobby.
