I am very much agreeing with your comments.
I have had a numerous Celestion SL series including SL600, SL700 but I felt they are not as good as KEF 105's in overall listening to various of musics. One day very exciting and other day very disappointed, so all stayed for a period and eventually gone. Still I miss some of the voice magics though...

I've had my SL600s since '90 or '91 and probably should recap them as they've been out of rotation for awhile and they are all original. They worked the best for me on my MC275. They seem like they were born together it is such a nice combo. However, they do not do everything well. Female vocals though, wow. They sure do that right.

Yes, female vocals as well as acoustic guitar were outstanding on the original SL6.
