    Hey there,

I have been listening to music since I was in high school, had a fascination with vinyl and cassettes until they faded back in the day. Equipment that was available to me back then was not hifi, I think the better one was a sony walkman :).

Since then I went through CDs and digital music. Gave up CDs in favor of digital, since it's about the same. Still listen to digital for convenience, keeping a google play music subscription. This works very nice for discovering new and old music and especially checking if I like the music before buying vinyl.

Lately I have been getting back into vinyl, happy to be able to listen again to my old records, which my parents were wise enough to keep for me.

    Current equipment is:
    - Pioneer PL-200
    - Muffsy phono preamp
    - Raspberry Pi + MamboBerry DAC
    - Folsom 7297 Amp
    - Boston Acoustics A25 bookshelf speakers

    Current projects:
    - Dual 1229 restoration
    - Ikea Blanda bowl spherical speakers
    - Arduino LDR volume and source selection controller

Due to work, family, other hobbies and the likes, projects are advancing rather slowly. It took me 1 year to complete the Folsom Amp, though only one weekend for the Muffsy preamp. Ikea speakers I have as a project for about 9 months, Dual is in restoration for a couple months, but nearing the final.

Kinda long intro, hope you are not bored to death :)

I am located in Romania, which makes things a bit difficult when buying stuff. Mostly gear from Germany available here.

    Cheers,
    Sorin

    Thanks @Katattack and others.

Since last posting, I have added a tube preamp to my setup and it sounds lovely. It's a custom build, inherited, seems very high end component wise, quite bad construction.
