Here's a Nikko Alpha II and Beta II power/pre combo that I just fixed for a customer - a VERY fine piece of kit, and incredibly well kept even in 2015! The Alpha II measured 108 dB UNWEIGHTED signal to noise ratio! It must be one of the quietest 120 WPC amplifiers made in that era, if not ever.

sony str-7065. this was, well, sony's top receiver once upon a time:

flares are a no-no in photography but what the heck! love the effect!

inspired by a photo i saw on the web. here's my humble tribute:

here it is again in old school grainy black and white:

I had two of those 7065's. One was the A variant.

They never age. Classic look, and wonderful sound. Great pics!

Thanks. I'm trying to figure out how to remove the dialplate glass so i can stain them and get the green color of the station numbers back.

No. From what i've researched somfar, two festoon lamps on the side of the dial plate shines through the green tinted side to light up the display.
