Thats a lot of power for a Cornwall. If the amp is ever driven into distortion for more than a brief fraction of a second your tweeter diaphragms could be victims. Keep your amps well maintained to prevent them from generating distortion prematurely. 5 watts of high frequency distortion can easily place the tweeter is danger. Music with a lot of electronic synthesisers and special effects are very stressful for those small tweeters used in a Cornwall.
The canes were always my favorite Klipsch grill. I was saving up for either CWs or Choruses when the Khorns popped up locally, so settled for them. Ahem.
Never saw these in cane, always the black mesh. What a difference of the look they bring with the birch
Yeah, in the CWII-era especially, black was more popular, but cane was still an option when ordering, IIRC. I agree, the cane looks great with lacquered birch. The Cornwall was my dream speaker for a couple years; I could easily live with a pair, and prefer them over the La Scala.
Now let's see a couple pics of that Stingray - I recall seeing a pic of one in Stereophile long ago, and being impressed with the look, though, if I recall correctly, the review wasn't outstanding from a measured-spec perspective. The comments about its sound were more favorable, I think. I bet it drives CWs nicely.

One the woofers has developed a little voice coil rub and is audible now at somewhat low listening levels,
I'll try that, thanksTry rotating the woofers 180 degrees in their mounting holes. Your surrounds may have "stretched" a bit from the weight.
