CR-800 Pop at shutdown revisited

Anywhere on the 12VDC lamp line and ground, it's going to run warm so space it away from the board. Also the 75 Ohms in not engraved in stone, 100 Ohms @ 5W might be close enough and more than likely more readily available.

I just noticed R945? Try installing the shunt resistor AFTER R945.
