I do. It's kinda fun actually.

If it's somebody selling something, I usually cuss them out and tell them never call again. They usually don't.

I've even gotten robo calls that give you a speech and say press 1 or whatever for more info. I've waited through the message and got the real person on the line and THEN cussed them out and told them to never call again.:rflmao:

The one day I answered a call, thinking it may be important because it was a local number. It ended up being the Indian scammer saying how my Windows computer is infected, yada yada yada. I told him no it's not and to leave me alone. You know that scammin' SOB actually had the nerve to raise his voice to me? I let him have every insult and cuss word I could think of until he hung up on me.:king:

Doing this has worked better than the Do Not Call List ever did. A person should have the right to peace and not have the damn phone ring constantly.

I think they have a sucker list to pass on. Call numbers supposedly give them what they need. Any chance you are a permanent name/number because one guy on the other end wants to "reward" you :)?

That doesn't seem to be the case.:dunno: The scammer/sales calls have dropped to almost none. The phone barely rings unless it's someone we know. Which is the way it ought to be.

Hell yeah........if they're selling something I torture them for a bit before putting their number on the call and message block list.

Never. Whenever I mistakenly answer it's a stupid robo call or some scammer. Having a hispanic name makes it even worse as they somehow assume I need a "payday loan" it's ****ing insulting on top of being annoying.

I own and operate my own business, so I have business and personal phone numbers--so I have to answer pretty much anything on my business line, but unless I recognize a number on my personal line NOPE. If the extension starts out with 8xx, there is no way in hell that I will take that call.

On the rare occasions that I have answered a call I do not recognize, because there was a chance it was someone I needed to speak to, it has turned out to be a telemarketer.

The Do Not Call list needs to be expanded to include non-profits, political calls, and surveys. We also need a way to automatically block all calls that originate from outside the USA.

My advice is do not donate to political organizations or non-profits. It has been my experience that a $25 donation will be spent on repeated requests for additional donations, rather than on accomplishing what the organizations supposedly support.

Sad but true. The lack of regulation is making us all rude. I don't think I have ever received an unsolicited call that wasn't of a predatory nature. Thankfully, I'm educated enough about these things to not get scammed but I can only imagine how many others are victimized by these animals. More of a worry is that the ones that fall for these things are precisely the people that would most be hurt by them. It's just one more drop in the bucket of shit that's turning us into a nation of unfriendly cynics.

I know that I am way more of an asshole now than I was 10 years ago.
