DVD player question

    I know that you cannot play a Blu ray DVD in a standard DVD player,but can you play standard DVD's in a blu ray player???

    Yes. It is backward compatible.

    so I'm safe to buy a Blu ray DVD player,and I can still watch my standard DVDS? SWEET!!!! finding blu ray DVD's at Goodwill for $3,but have a boatload of standard DVD's.

    Yea, you're safe. Any Blu-Ray player will play standard DVD's. They have to be backwards compatible. It's mandated as part of the Blu-Ray specification. And if you buy a Sony Blu-Ray player, it'll probably play SACD's too. If that interests you?
