DJ, not to argue with you but a band being popular, no matter how popular that may be does not make their music "pop music." The band EAGLES (never THE EAGLES) were pretty damned popular for quite a while themselves and nobody, but nobody would call their music "pop." Music being popular does not in and of itself make it "pop."
