As a teenager (maybe early 20's) I had a pair of very small speakers (4 inch I think) built into white metal spherical enclosures made by some French Company I believe. This is back in the 70's if I recall correctly. For what they were, they sounded pretty good. I stuck mine up on the ceiling in the room's corners to reinforce the very limited bass they had.

Did they have a sort of cone shaped mount? I remember some from the mid'70's. They were in black, white and crome. I remember them being able.to.get pretty loud.

Nope, the base was a cylinder with a hole for screw mounting and a magnet to hold the round speaker to it.
