Fun with FLIR

We have a really nice FLIR at work, and I know they can be useful for diagnostics.

FLIR has a small "cheap" camera for cell-phones and I got one (might be able to get work to pay for it too).

My intention is mostly diag on audio equipment.

Here's a pic of a Carver amp that is known for having heat problems, and I've just finished with a Service Bulletin modification. Too bad I don't have before pics.

Here's my "server" cabinet in the basement. Looks like to NAS drives run hot.

My plan is get before and after pics on equipment I work on. And I'll offer to shoot neighbors houses in the winter. Not sure how useful will be in summer.

And it finally got a little cold here, so I thought I'd check a room at the back of the house. It's an old house, poor quality for the most part. I've always known this room is cool\warm, it doesn't hold temp well.
FLIR shows the joists are providing a "thermal bridge" to the inside drywall.
