This turntable has popped up for sale for $30. I currently am running a sherwood st880 that I cant find any info on nore do I think I can adjust speed. So what can you tell me about this Garrard? The my system is driven by a sherwood S8900 with realistic mockII's.

While the Sherwood may be no great shakes as a table, I have my reservations that Garrard is any better. And its a pretty complex mechanical table that has a lot to go wrong in it. I would let it pass on by and save my money for a decent next table.

Of course I am just a simple country pig. We like good food, warm sun, and soft hay. If you want another opinion go talk to the cows for they are wise. Do not talk to the chickens, as fowl are known liars and they cheat at cards.

Cheers

Looks to me like the platter on the Garrard is undersized (can't really tell from the photo). The spindle looks to be that of a changer style...

Personally, I would hold on to my $30 and put it towards something nicer down the road.

I would tend to agree with the other learned gentlemen. I wouldn,t want to give more than 10 dollars for it personally

Dude, get a decent turntable and stop looking at that Garrard crap. No BSR's neither!

Agree with above. That Garrard is a 60s model. High tracking tone arm that will be no friend to your records. Save your $30. Did get lucky on a Garrard Zero 92. Cost me $42.42 landed. Had a Shure M55 cart and decent dustcover. Kept them for my Zero 100. Put the dust cover from the 100 along with a Shure V15 type III I got free on the Zero 92, gave it a good cleaning and lube. Racking at a gram and a half. Gave to a friend with no money. To me the cart and better dustcover was worth more than the purchase price. The moral of the story, there are deals out there. Found a MCS Direct Drive turntable free with a M91ED cart. Replaced the stylus cleaned ready to go. Patience is key. Good luck.
