Hi all,
I have recapped an L-48x integrated amp and am having trouble matching the bias setting. I chose to use Nichicon Fine Gold to replace the original Chemicons and Elna Silmic ii in place of the original Elnas.
Firstly, i have been unable to find a service manual for the amp, probably because it was a Japanese market model. The closest made for US model is the L-480 which I believe to be similiar except for the addition of LED meters and a slightly lower power output, and the manual is on Hifi Engine.
I first set the DC offset to 0 on both channels, then using the manual specs set the bias to 26.4 mV.
The left channel easily came into spec but the right maxxed out at 22.1 mV.
Is it possible the 26.4 setting is too high for this amp? And if not, which component would be causing the loss in voltage?
Regards, Dave.
