Hi JimL1, Just joined the forum. I purchased a SA 7700 today. I also left a reply to another member on this unit. Would welcome you tips on giving this model some TLC. It's in good shape just need to clean the knobs and clean out the inside. Also, the meter lights do not work. Any direction on where to purchase replacement bulbs ? Is the repair recommended by a professional or can it be handled by a non techie ? Thanks in advance for any cleaning tips.

Will have to check my setting I did not receive a notification just now checked messages. My bulbs were out also when I purchased mine. I hooked a 1 K ohm 1/8 or 1/4 watt resistor to an LED and placed it near the bottom. works well and will never again be bothered by replacing the incandescents again. It was a bit difficult but did fit the LED inside on the bottom. Heat shrink the connecting leads so they don't short out on anything. You can do it yourself just remember it is a bit time consuming... I would definitely replace all the electrolytic capacitors if they have not already been replaced. 35 years old and they are all at their life spans end. If I can remember right be careful when replacing the 2 large power supply capacitors. The wires connecting the 2 capacitors do not accurately reflect the Polarity. One black is hooked to Positive on the Capacitor. The Capacitors do not have polarity marked on them for some reason? Check them with a Volt meter and mark the polarity.

Nice to know I'm in good company, though my ownership is space limited. For vintage, right now I have:

McIntosh MA-6100
Luxman R-1050
Rotel RX-600A
NAD 7120

Do also have my home theatre receiver, but it's a boring modern Marantz HDMI blah blah blah. System at the cottage has a semi-modern H/K DPR-1001

Onkyo MK II's 2500, 4500, 6500, 8500
Yamaha CR's 1000, 1020, 2020
Sansui Eight, 9090
those are my heavy-hitters, got a few others that are boxed up.

Not sure of the time frame for "vintage," so I will limit my list to working receivers at least 35 years old:
Sansui G-8700DB

You guys put me to shame. I only have one and it's my nightly driver so to speak. A
Nikko 6065 --34 true Japanese watts not divided avr nonsense ratings and it powers my JBL-G-200 bookies w/ ease. $40 C/L and I think it was a great buy. One fuse type lamp blew, signal strength and was replaced (the only 2 that were accessible) Wood grain cabinet w/ vent grill on top.FM sucks where I live but pulls in both NYC and Philly stations. H/Ph plugged in is a vintage Pioneer #305 hung up out of view.IMG_4170[1].jpg and has a brilliant green diffusor which looks great at night.
