How to choose a quiet pre-amp? And understanding the specs on it?

What is the impedance of your pre amp? Is it a good match impedance wise with this amp? Is it an option to hook your pre amp up to the amp for a listening session?

If you follow the link I provided, you find that Yamaha doesn't specify such for this inexpensive wireless network streamer/preamp. Even on their website.

Most op amp driven line stages, however, typically have very low output Z for non-critical matching even to low input Z SS amps.

Passive magnetic attenuation is very quiet.

One's sources should be robust, but impedance concerns go away with transformers or autoformers, and so does the power cord.
