How to Drive the Nurburgring Nordschleife

Nurburgring 2017 lap ticket prices
In 2017 you can still turn up, buy laps (per vehicle not per person), and drive straight on to the track during a Touristfahrten session. Cars and bikes pay the same for laps. The ticket office is next to the Touristfahrten main entrance in Nürburg. There's no briefing or need for your car to be checked etc.

New for 2017 is an app-based payment system. A single lap ticket is €25 Monday to Thursday, and €30 Friday to Sunday. Nine laps is about 90 minutes driving, which is probably similar to what you'd do on a normal track day and on that basis €270 (over a weekend) isn't terrible value for money.

New also for 2017, and replacing previous years' discount for quantity of laps bought, are "Green Hell credits". One credit equals €10; as at December 2016 you get ten credits per €100 spent. You can use credits to buy more laps, so you have to buy more laps to get the discount.

You can still turn up and pay cash for laps without registering for the app, but you don't get the Green Hell Credits. This isn't a problem if you just want to do say a couple of laps. If you plan on doing four or more it's a good idea to sign up for the app. You can do it here
