1963 McIntosh System featured on cover of Jan 1963 Audio Magazine.
Includes pair of MC60's, C-20 pre-amp, a Thorens TD124, pair of custom AR3's, etc.
Asking price is about right IF completely restored and ready to play. This set has been in storage at least 15 years and needs a complete going through. I'm thinking more like $4000 would be about right.

Some good looking Vintage HH Scott pieces, maybe a 299C and a 350 tuner? Nice Rek-o-kut turntable and some University speakers (yuk).

The 350 is an FM-only unit of the same vintage; that tuner has AM and FM dials. See

I think that is a 330D. Nice examples of the Scotts! Although the 330D was a "simulcast stereo" unit, there are no such broadcasts now so it is effectively monophonic.

Yeah that's probably it. Long long time ago I had a Scott AM/FM tuner of same vintage that I traded for a type 130 preamp. At the time it was a fair deal, but I think I came out ahead given today's prices on the 130. I think the guy I traded still has the tuner, but I haven't heard from him in a couple years. He was a Fisher fanatic....had a couple SA1000's that he always loved. I think he used to be active at this site.

I looked at that website and I'm still not sure whether I had a 330C D or 331? The guy I traded it to for the 130 said it was rare which is why he wanted it so maybe it was the 331. I've got a 310D and a LT110B and a 335 mpx unit so I'm happy. Nick you still alive? What was it?

They were fishing for offers with a $1,400 ask, and were definitely getting some offers. 299B on the amp. I forget the exact model for the tuner. There was some other decent stuff here and there (an Eico monoblock comes to mind) but nothing amazing. The Jensen speaker cabinet which was added to the pictures late was still in the attic today so no one could see it. It probably has a Jensen driver in it, so not super exciting.

The scott console showing as sold. So someone probably paid close to the 1400 asking price. My Guess. There is another nearby sale that has a nice set of Pioneer C-90 M-90 M&K S-1B but also with an asking price of $2000. Maybe I should drop to see if I can lowball it for less than 800.

Impossible to say. He was certainly getting bids on the Scott pieces, probably the turntable, and I'm sure at least one person wanted the speakers. I bet it went to a few different buyers. I'll ask the next time I see the guy.

Well too bad no deals, but it is encouraging the see prices holding up. Most of my stuff I have I paid nowhere near today's prices so I am overcome with sticker shock easily. So maybe my wife might make a little when I check out. Had I invested the same $ in the S&P500 index I'd be light years ahead and wouldn't have had to listen to her complain about all my junk. However, as somebody once said: money isn't worth anything until you spend it.
