The article sells the service as 'bringing back liner notes for the streaming age,' though reading it, I'm not sure that's exactly what it does.

Nonetheless, this would seem to go a ways toward fixing one of streaming's biggest problems for folks like me, who want more than just the music.

I usually just use Wikipedia for album liner notes when streaming. Laptop for the transport > DAC
Tablet for the liner notes.

Seems very limited with Sonos and Appletv as barriers to entry. Would be better if it worked like Shazam and used your phone or tablet’s microphone to figure out what is playing and then presenting the liner notes.

Looks far less limited than Roon from my perspective (and no doubt millions of other Sonos owners). Too bad it requires AppleTV, would greatly prefer it to work with Amazon’s FireStick, but that’s a far lower barrier to entry than having to purchase a computer, which I personally haven’t seen the need for in years. The fact that it’s free, vs Roon’s $120/year subscription, is another factor in its favor (though I suspect there will be plenty of ads to put up with).

Roon is even more of a niche market because of price. I agree with that.
