Kimberlys story
I am the single mother of 2 very special and beautiful boys. Chase and Caleb are both severely Autistic and non verbal. They are very happy and full of light and life! I'm hoping you can help give them the Christmas they deserve. GIfts please. The boys do not understand gift cards. Thank You for all your help. God Bless you!
I met Kim at the store at 9am and we clicked right away. She told me that her oldest son was a normal little boy until one day it was like someone turned off a light. At the time she was pregnant with her second son and had to find out what was wrong with her 1st son. Her son had gone from a full of energy kid wanting to be outside all day and extrememly talkative, to a shadow of himself. He stopped talking and didn't want to play or go outside. When she received the diagnosis of Autism on her oldest son she was also told that the baby she was carrying had a 40% chance of being Autistic also. And unfortunately the doctors were right.
When Kim talks about her boys you would never know what she has to deal with on a daily basis because her boys are the light in her life.
Kim was very particular about what she wanted to get her boys. Not because she was picky but because the boys are overly sensitive to touch. It was very humbling to watch her as she shopped because as a mom I used to pick up a toy, or cloths and just put them into the shopping cart. But she spent time making sure that she touched it, looked at it closely and touched it again. We talked a lot while shopping and she was so happy that she had the opportunity to shop for her sons. She would have been very happy if we had purchased gifts and dropped them off, but being able to shop for her boys herself she knew they would love the gifts.
I have met many moms over the past 7 years shopping with families. But this young lady just had such a positive vibe and attitude. Things are not easy for her but she will do anything to make sure that her boys have what they need and are happy.
Thank you for all your generosity and giving me the opportunity to meet Kim.
