Late 2270 Serial Number

Hi all,

I know it's common knowledge around here that there are about 85,000 2270's out there. I was under the impression that all 2270's had a sequential serial number. However, I just came across one that is serial number U471054. Inside, it's marked "471054" and the production date is "76 10 15". Clearly this is one of the last 2270's ever made. But could it be THE last? October 15th, 1976 was a Friday, after all...

Mine is also a 1976 but I can’t remember the exact date and don’t feel like opening it up right now.

Does anyone know what the circuit changes are in the later models? I read somewhere that they addressed the units performance with 4 ohm loads in the last years of production.
