I've been enjoying and benefiting from AK for a while now, so I thought I should do this. I really appreciate the high level of knowledge and generosity I've found here on AK. (Even though I've never been to Alaska....) With a background in experimental physics, I have a pretty solid training in electronics but no musical taste or refinement whatsoever. Srsly. I'm really enjoying (read: kinda obsessed with) this as a new hobby. Vintage audio has been a great way to use things I know to explore things I don't. I L.U.V. the feeling of taking a dumpster-bound hunk of vintage brokenness and transforming it into another sweet piece of nostalgic awesomeness. How? With the help of generous and knowledgeable experts on AK. And I'm finding that really listening has had some positive impact on my hearing. Music is much more alive for me than ever before.
