Just curious out of all you Luxman nuts like me, whats your favorite piece? I own 4 now. My L-80v, L-3, R-404, and R-113. Really cool guy sold me the L-3 and R-404 for really cheap, theyre in great shape. He used to be a sound guy and said a tech from Mcintosh told him to go check out Luxman. I love all my Luxmans, but the L-80v is the best amplification I have heard yet. Some of my other gear have speakers that sound good on them and not on another, vice versa, but EVERY set of speakers sounds great on the L-80v. Love that L-3 as well. Really brought my GFs Altec Lansing 893a Coronas to life over my Kenwood KA-305.

Whats your favs?

My Luxman C-1010 is probably my favorite piece of gear that I own. I just love the look and feel of it. It might just be in my head, but I always think I hear an improvement when I put it into my system. In the end, that feeling is all that matters. I am building my second system around it.

I'm infatuated with Luxman gear. Based on the current prices, I know I'm not the only one. I'd love to find a M-4000 power amp to pair with the C-1010 and then an integrated to just keep around. Maybe an L-10 or an L-100. There are a ton of well regarded integrated amps to look for.

My L-580 integrated amp. Purchased it new in Okinawa, Japan in 1983 when I was in the service. It was not considered the best of the best at the time in the trade mags, but I liked it. Over time, it has gone from "OK, but not top-end" to "Oh, ick, duo-beta feedback, are you kidding?" to "Stuff sounds pretty nice!" to "Wow, cult classic, amazing!" All through that time, it's been the same amp to me.

So yeah, now everybody loves on Luxman hard. About time they figured it out.

As with most of what I've gotten, I give it away. I have an R-1050 that is with a nephew at the moment, and will go to my son when he returns to the US from overseas. Pleasing to the eye, sounds smooth and detailed.

My only Luxman is the C-1000 preamp.

Tim De Paravicini:
The C 1000 pre-amp in 1975 was my statement to the Yamahas and Accuphases in Japan at that time, I said "Come on and catch me".

Just my R-404 that I have had since high school. A little bit of cosmetic damage but performs flawlessly. It has now become a more or less permanent installation in my DIY touchscreen multimedia jukebox.

I have so many Luxman pieces in my collection. Right now I am enjoying the phono section on an L-480. Just wonderful.

I'm really digging my R-1070 as a preamp right now, I hopefully will be picking up the matching Pre (C-1000) by end of month at which point I will recap my Polk Monitor 7C's and then I'll by done for the time being with regards to acquiring gear and by time being I mean until the next pieces presents itself & catches my eye

My Luxman C-02, M-02 kicked my Yamaha C-4, M-4 out of the top spot in my rotation. That's saying something because the Yamaha gear is no slouch.

Also have an R-113 that just sings, punches well above its watt class and never breaks a sweat.

I think most of the Luxman gear is pretty enough to be considered art.

I'm not Luxman nut, but I am running an R-115 that i found at a yard sale, and it sounds glorious. If only it looked as good as it sounds.

Easy to answer at the moment: a 5T50 tuner I picked up here on BT recently.

Easy because it's the only Luxman I've owned. But, I bought the matching 5L15 integrated this week on eBay, so the choices just doubled :)

Interesting pieces from the Laboratory Reference Series, never knew about these until recently. If the amp is built half as well as the tuner, going to be pretty happy with it.

My first "real" stereo was Luxman back in 1989: R-113 and a DZ-112. I still use the DZ-112 in a second system and a used DZ-121 at my cottage (the 2nd hand shop guys never even heard of Luxman!). The little 35 wpc receiver is also going strong, but at a friend's house.

Well....This is what I have...

R-117, R-115, R-1040, R-1050 (Starting Recap), L-480, LV-109, LV-105u (in for service), T-310A, T-12 and 5T10.

I am always looking for Luxman....

All I have is a PD-264 turntable, but it was the very first piece of vintage hi-fi I ever picked up. It's great stuff!
