MAC 1200 Receiver Prototype

Anyone know anything?

It seems that one has shown up at Audio Classics. I seem to recall having a MAC all-tube receiver way back when. It had a black and gold face-plate rather than the much lighter grey of the MAC 1500.

I think that was around 1967-68. It might have been used. I returned it in favor of a Marantz 7t,8b setup which was traded in for a MX112/Mc240.

I keep on forgetting to ask about that receiver when I stop in there. At the price it's listed for, I doubt it's a tube unit.

They do have a prototype MB50 "Tuner Amplifier" I wouldn't mind owning but the price of that one is well out of my league.
