Malicious Attacks from AK ads!

It took me to a page to redo my Flash player . Norton said Malvertisment redirect 23 . That's what I remember .

I still think a good approach would be to REMOVE ads completely from Subscriber's view. Sure, maybe (maybe) raise the subscriber rate slightly to do so,
but since these malware issues are tied to the AK/Google ad experience, getting rid of the ads would do a lot to speed up the load time of the site
and also eliminate the hostile adware issues!

Thats just my personal opinion, of course, but I am a member of other sites that do not pound me with ad copy for less that relevant stuff ...
I mean, really, can't that one vendor find something from this decade other than showing electron tubes in Boobs?

I would pay a higher subscription fee to be ad-free. (Wikipedia search on "malvertising") If the powers at be would take a poll I would bet that they would find a lot of other folks feel the same way.

This is a very interesting forum discussion.. there were some problems with my browser experience several months back... a very persistent porn site. It would pop up or "view" right after my usual Chrome visit to AK.

Not sure where the issue was solved.. either through some of my Kaspersky enhancements or AK took action based on another claim by a poster?

However, recently and more frequently I have noticed "phishing" via various sites I have visited during routine search on the net. This includes bogus shipping alerts and the like! And every now and again.. the "missing friend" stuck in Kalamazoo... needing emergency money.

Apparently, the search engine and routine selling of marketing sites and visits by Net providers may be further reaching than admitted. As I am sure some of this information has gotten into criminal savvy hands.. and this is just some of the fallout.

Not sure, short of not using the Net, these issues can be completely solved. Hackers just seem to have unlimited time and resources for mischief.. and I am sure the material they collect makes their efforts well worth that time : (

I get a malicious attack warning just about every time I visit AK, it's a redirect one in my case. Probably trying to go to the porn site but Norton blocks it and I never get the redirect

This popped up (redirect) as I was just reading this thread .

DO NOT CLICK ON THIS !!!

This is a completely bogus "alert". It's simply a phishing scam to call their number and "fix" your "infected" computer. Nothing to see or fear here.

Not necessarily. Some of those 'ransomware' attacks come from self-replicating files that install themselves on your computer, and then lay in wait. After you open your browser, they wait a while, and then pop up. Often the only way to close them is to use the task manager.

Malwarebytes has a pretty good success rate with their tools for rooting out this beasties.

if on windows only sure way is re-install o/s .or hope to delete it in registry .. going back to an earlier backup using built in rstrui.exe seems the best way for me if possible .

Okay, but I just had a fourth one while I was here and I've never had another one anywhere else.

Chrome, Win 7, home made tower

I got a redirect on my Android going to messages from the forums, backed out via browser history.

I do not. I navigated from one page in D&S to another and the ransom page with the phishing phone number came up. I had to ctl, alt, del to get out. Are you a mod?

If it happens again I will try to get a screen cap.

Advally is our ad supplier. They help us fund this enjoyable forum. He is here to work directly with us, to eliminate any issues relating to ads. Thanks to all, for whatever assistance you all can give him. Bad guys are leveraging ad feeds all over the net, and they are hard to track down and eliminate, but progress is slowly but surely being made.

Enjoy,
Rich P
