Hello AKer's. I picked up a 2220B off of CList today and here is what I found:
No sound on any mode
I pulled the output transistors for testing and they all check out as being OK.
I use the manual to verify that the transistors are in the correct position
I plug in and power on and the amp smokes and the fuse blows instantly
Is the manual incorrect?

My understanding is that the location should be:
H001 H004
NPN NPN
D188 D188

H002 H003
PNP PNP
A627 A627

Is this correct? I am kicking myself for not paying close attention but my excitement got the better of me

Hi there, I just worked on a 2220b and have a photo I took of the output transistors after I remounted them:

Here's a pic.. but you'll need to go through the amp board to see what else was damaged.

Awesome - thank you both! Thankfully I have a replacement set on hand. It seems that one of the freed itself from its mount post from the bottom of the board when I removed the heat sink for a cleaning. I haven't worked on a unit in far too long and I am kin of rusty. Thank you for the assist glen65 and Velox. Fortunately, I already had intended to rebuild the board on account of a few bulging caps.
