Decided to change up my living room setup last weekend. I have a number of vintage receivers to choose from. I took the Yamaha cr-3020 out of the system and replaced it with the Yamaha cr-2040. I agree with many who feel the cr-2040 is the better sounding. The 3020 is the looker though!
Changed out the A/D/S L810 to the Yamaha ns-690. They don't have the bottom end that the A/D/S do but I like the Yamaha's! Enjoying the setup so far!
I changed up the bedroom system also. Took out the Yamaha cr-2020 and installed the Pioneer sx-737. Its different but not as good. I admit I'm partial to the Yamaha sound.
I'll run these systems for a while and change them up again. I want to put my ESS amt 1a in place of the ns-690's and see how they jell.

Listening to my CR-2040 right now.

Never seen or heard the rare 3020.

    Enjoy!!!

I recently picked up a Cr 1040 that I like quite a bit. I just hate the way it has teeny tiny secondary controls and tiny writing. They definitely were going for looks over function.

The sucker has detail that can cut glass however.
