The other day I stopped by a local thrift/consignment store looking for end tables. Sequestered in a small room was the usual 80's and 90's receivers, CD changers cassette decks etc. To my surprise there was a nice looking pair of bookshelf speakers for $45 and in excellent condition. Upon further inspection I found they were Monitor Audio Bronze BR2 speakers! When I brought them to the counter I confirmed the price with the cashier. She said no, everything was on sale so "how about $30?" Needless to say I couldn't get the money out fast enough.
I plopped them on my Sanus stands hooked up to the Marantz 2245 and was very impressed with their balanced sound and respectable low end. What a great sounding pair of speakers! For $30, these were certainly one my biggest scores.
