I have had great results with Rick Cobb. You can find him as looneytune2001 on the bay. No relation to the person and no economic ties. I have used 20 plus pairs.

I’m curious about the back story on how you acquired these. Looks like they may have been neglected for awhile. Also do the woofers with the accordion type surrounds also need to be “refoamed”?

Leave the woofers in the right side of the photo alone unless they have been damaged. The "accordion" style can usually be left as they are.

The component arrangement appears to be S8R. The accordion style woofer is a passive radiator, non active no voice coil. Components should be LE15A, PR15, H93, 375, H91, 075, LX5, N7000.

Just checking. I saw a similar set yesterday but not 100% if that was the speaker compliment or not.

I would discontinue using the original ring radiators and up date to one of the last two models. They are much more linear have a smoother broader coverage pattern to go with your acoustic lenses. There is a website you can google that will give you specs and curves on All the different Ring Radiators. The best ring radiator was made by the other Lansing, ALtec. They were smooth to over 25,000 HZ, were more efficient and had lower distortion. Model 950 UHF, built for the Asian market only.

Actually, if one has the space on the baffleboard, the ring radiators can sound really good. You just need to add an acoustic lens.

Personally, I would keep the 075 bullet tweeters unlss they're physically not working. They are common, parts are available and they are a known quantity for those speakers.

Yes, your chances are about as good of finding a pair of complete and working Ionovac's.

However, 9862's, the monitor that used Altec 950 tweeter were installed in several west coast American and Canadian studios, and a few other locations here in the states. Last pair i pursued sold for 4 grand and that was close to 10 years ago.
