I think a "Cable" section would be a VERY good idea....there are so many brands and types and levels of each brand....also a "Cable DIY" under cables would also be a good idea......just been looking over the Chris Ven Haus web site recently and if I replaced just my AC cables with his designs I could save at least $300.00 by DIYing instead of purchasing the finished product....thats a "Chunk-O-Change" to me.......just my opinion...one of many other voices.............:thmbsp:

Also I did see a suggestion about having a section on JBL/Altec Lansing...........there is already a web site dedicated to those products and VERY good one I might add (http://audioheritage.csdco.com).......it takes alot to maintain a web site like AudioKarma (my hat is off to those who keep it running):huge: Just want to say thanks and keep up the good work......

Back to the question though, a "tweeking" section would be nice...reduction of vibrations, noise, cable isolation, ect....that sort of thing...........that would seperate Tweeking DIY's from the DIY's that are equipment related (getting inside the gear and that sort of thing)....just a thought...........

Looks like I may have hit a nerve:) with my posting of EBAY LP auctions that I felt may have been of interest to folks in the local areas. As I also see a number of posting for "deals" on the craig list also... Why not have a forum just for EBAY / Craig List / ETC. / ETC. deals that folks in the listing area might be interested in. I see BIG LP lots and HEAVY audio equipment going the way of local pick-up with the rising gas cost.... Shipping cost may start to kill some of the high bids, and if an individual is local that may be the ticket to some good deals in LPs, equipment, speakers or whatever...

I have to go with the tech stuff. My handicap. Can't really fix anything inside Like replacing caps in speakers or know how to figure out problems. I keep reading info already on the site. Just still chicken. I have to pass up a lot of gear because I can't fix a simple problem.

I know I'll get slammed for this, but considering the HUGE crossection of products they do and have manufactured: a Sony forum.

What happen to Grumpy's forum suggestion of "Your an A-hole and I'm not"
Porn can only get you so far.....

There have been requests for an Online auction (eBay, CL, etc.) forum previously. The pros and cons could kill the AK bandwidth for days...

As soon as a specific mfr is spun off to a new forum those that only visit Vintage Audio would miss posts that may they might otherwise provide comments on.

My 2¢.

Heck, I found this site while looking for vintage nude photography... up pops AK with a "Pioneer nudie" post.... and here I am! So I guess I'm sayin'... isn't it already a porn site?

How about a systems forum?

People list and talk about there systems, maybe post a few pics.

It had been at one point, but at the time of course there wasn't enough traffic to sustain two (that was obviously LONG ago).

Might be something to think about though......

The test equipment/procedures forum would be a great idea, if it could be distinct enough from the DIY forum.

If AK is gonna have vintage gear specific forums (Sansui, Pioneer, etc.) I always had a soft spot in my heart for Kenwood.

Just my $.02

Well, couldn't it then be put in as a sub-forum of the DIY forum like how Music Reviews is sub to the main Music forum? It could work on the same principle, even. To that end, how about something similar for the Speaker forum, a sub-forum to post speaker reviews and specific information concerning repairs where the information is put up there for people to access and read as a library without additional posts.

Now, I wouldn't mind seeing a vintage audio exotica forum, something for all the oddballs and rarities, but I doubt there'd be enough traffic/posts to make it worth the effort.

I woudl like to se a bit more granularity in the user classifieds, a structure something like the overall forum. This is to make it easier to locate a specific item or brand that i woudl be looking for.

Thanks for the forum as it is...
