New Toys

I cleaned up the top side of the HF87 and it looks pretty good. Some of the transformer hardware is a little rusty and I may change it down the road but good enough for now.

I have it mostly rebuilt but still have the two voltage doubler caps to replace. So I plugged it into my variac and brought it up nice and slow and so far its nice and quiet but the voltages are a little on the low side so I suspect those caps are not in the best condition. I put a source to it and on my test speakers it sounds really amazing. Once I get a chance to change the last two caps I will try it on the RF7's and see how quiet it really is and give a report.

I had a chance tonight to finish the re-cap on the HF-87 tonight and did the first power up without a hitch. It is dead quiet with no signal and man it is one very powerful sounding machine, you can feel the bass.
