Newb question, 3ohm center channel

I ditched my HTIB setup for a superior 2.1. It works great for music which is it's primary function but I do like being able to use it for TV and movies as well and at lower volumes the dialogue can be hard to hear. As a stop-gap until I can find a suitable speaker I hooked up the center channel from the old HTIB which sounds just fine but is rated at 3 ohm, the back of the receiver (Yamaha RX-V2090) calls for 'minimum 4ohms' at the center channel out. Am I risking any damage to the receiver? I know it's a fairly robust unit, and some light googling leads me to believe it shouldn't be an issue but I was hoping I might get a more definitive answer here.
