I am currently the owner of five turntables: A Micro Seiki DD40, Marantz 6100, Pioneer A-35, Philips 212 and a Dual 1215-S. All but he Dual are now working properly. Way too many, but I'm sure some of you are sitting on greater hoards than me! Come on, 'Fess up! What you sitting on right now that your not using?

You think thats hoarding I just recently found a Barn full of nos tubes.(Mainly TV) It would take 3 or 4 guys and 3 more barns sorting thought them all + LOTS of time.

I've been to a couple of estate sales of hoarders. One guy was a table-radio fanatic. His whole house was filled with pieces and parts of old table radios. It was disgusting and when i got home I started to pull stuff out of the closet to get rid of. Nothing so frightening as seeing a future, terrifying version, of your own current state.

Now if his house had been filled with old turntables, I would have saluted him as a hero, of course :)

I've lost count of the mid-fi ones still stacked in the store-room from the early days when I first got into this, but I'm sure I still have at least/more than twenty TTs. There are eight alone in my home-office room, where I'm sitting as I write this, and four more in the living room.

I've been cutting back on them, but not as fast as i would ideally like!

Ironically, I'm planning to buy at least two (perhaps three) more within the next few months... but also planning to sell a few more than that, so at least the trend is in the right direction --although still slowed down by the purchases! :D I keep envisioning a corner in a shop where the owner would allow me to put a vertical stand with 6 or 8 turntables on it at a time, for sale to trendy youngsters who want to get into vinyl, and only take a reasonable commission on each one sold. A nice way to get rid of the excess more quickly, and get some cash (probably profit) back. I need to get more aggressive about getting out there and finding such a shop, though. It's not so easy here.
