I grew up in Jersey and we always ate Pork Roll. Fried crispy with ur eggs over easy, or a Pork Roll sandwich for lunch or dinner.

Pork roll is a pork-based processed meat originating and commonly available in New Jersey, Delaware and parts of Pennsylvania and Maryland. It was developed in 1856 by John Taylor of Trenton, New Jersey, and sold as "Taylor Ham".

There were a few different brands: Taylor, Trenton, Case just to name a couple.

I'm a former Joisey boy and found Taylor Ham up here in N.H. just minutes from my house. I like to toast a hard roll, fry up the Taylor's with onions and melt some sharp cheddar on top. Add a little mustard and you have one great sammich. I think this is the third thread on AK about Taylor Ham in the last year or so which shows you how good it is.

I prefer Case's and ketchup on my bread/roll.

When I moved to Tn in 93 we would have the Case plant ship some of the big rolls down to us. Now you can buy Taylor already sliced or in the small rolls.

To me the Case brand was stronger flavor than Taylor. Never cared for the Trenton brand, too mild.
