You aren't kidding. I started with a 4240 in November of 2014. Now I have 14 and not including the 10 I've sold.Be careful. Marantz can been addictive. I started with a 2285, bought new in the 1970s. Then, in the past year I got the Marantz itch -- again. I picked up picked up a pristine 4400 and in the past month, a 19. Enjoy your 2270.
I have a 2238b receiver and a 6100TT. I really like how it sounds and looks. I have a set of Koss CM1020's but those are nowhere near bookshelf speakers. I had the receiver hooked up to a set of Bose 201's for a minute and it sounded quite nice. I know there's a lot of Bose haters out there, but for small bookshelf speakers the 201's really are a good bang for the buckhello all, just found a Marantz 2230 at an estate sale on saturday....first attempt at pairing up speakers, turntable with limited space...any thoughts on bookshelf speakers that won't break the bank but sound good as well? Also thought on a turntable as well....love the fact that I can communicate with so many Marantz lovers out there....thanks for any input ....
A few weeks ago , I was talking with a customer at work about my love of vintage hifi, he said I have a receiver in the upstairs of my garage I bought while in the service, I will leave it on my front porch, stop and take it, might not even work. Was pretty shocked it was a Marantz 4400. I am ok at changing resistors, capacitors. I have found a service manual download, and have researched the cause of many of the issues it has. It only works in 2 channel mode but sounds fantastic, scope doesn't function, some dial lamps out. Looks to be common with the 4400. I will be tackling each issue 1 at a time in the upcoming months.View attachment 790315 View attachment 790317
