Project Xpression iii vs Technics Sl1200 Mk5

Not sure if this is the right place but I'm looking to get a new turntable. I can get the project with a grado reference platinum 1 phono cartridge and acryllic platter for $500 or a technics 1200mk5 with grado black for $300. Not trying to spend $500 but if it's a noticeably difference I'm willing to do that
