RIP Tommy Keene

Tommy was one of the gems of our local scene. A great artist and a superb human being.

I saw him twice- both times with Grillbilly. Great gigs.

RIP Tommy.

Was Tommy Keane the geetar player who hooked up w/ GBV's Pollard for a few releases in the later '90s / early 2000s?

Indeed, I think they called themselves "The Keene Bothers". He also played guitar for Paul Westerburg of The Replacements at one time, and toured with Velvet Crush, playing guitar.

Man this really hits hard. Tommy was one of the DC area's biggest stars.

DAMN DAMN DAMN!!

God, I used to be a HUGE fan of The RAZZ, back in the day ...
Great pub band stuff ... him and Michael Reidy were a pair!
Spent many drinking nights at the nasty old Varsity Grill near MD U
or a few DC venues ... (DC Space?) ...

Still got a couple of their singles somewhere.

Said he passed in his sleep at age 59 - thats way too young!
