There is a Sony CDP-CA70ES near me that is up for sale really cheap. I'm thinking of purchasing it but want your opinions on its sound quality. Thanks

Should be very good.

Most ES stuff from the 90's were very good. Sony cheapened the ES series later on.

I can get it for 30 but without remote.

Any Sony CD changer remote will work with it, and many other Sony remotes can control it as well. Of course universal remotes are an easy option too, so the lack of remote is no dealkiller. I have the slightly later CDP-CA7ES which I picked up for about the same price, and it's been lovely in my office system.

I love all the Sony ES players I've come across. Haven't hit on any of the real high end ones yet but the ones i have sound real nice.
