Stax Earspeaker(headphones) Help Please

Hello Everyone,
I’m in need of some help testing these. I’m wondering if anyone local to me in the San Francisco Bay Area has an energiser/Amp that I can plug into for a quick test??
1-To see if mine are functional
2-To help me make a decision to keep them(or not) and search for my own energiser. I’m afraid I’ll be impressed...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can drive within an approximate area of 60 miles or so from my place in San Ramon.

Welcome on AK !

you are owner of a very good headphone
This model is high polarisation (high bias) headphone and need to be used with high bias amplifier
If you wish to test it , you can do it with an ordinary STAX SRD5 , SRD6, SRD7 , but results would be much much better with SRM1MKII PRO or SRA14s or any other high bias STAX amplifier
Your headphone look like a SR Lambda pro (brown ) normal Lambda is black.
This is very strange that you have only the headphone and no amplifier with it

Thanks for the quick reply. I only have the headphones due to the fact that I’m a treasure hunter(bargain shoppper). I found the headphones, unfortunately, no amplifier was found. I’m not sure if I want to spend money on an amplifier, especially since I haven’t even heard these. Anyhow, thanks again.
