Has anyone noticed the glut of new members with avatars advertising law firms and other businesses?

Not seeing it here. I just browsed the Introductions forum and nothing there either. Maybe a new form of hijack?

Click on 'Members' on the top bar - then look to the right for 'Newest Members' - below Today's Birthdays.

Note that they are all 46 years old !

Hiya,

Its a never ending battle. I can tell you this stuff comes in giant spews of gooey slime.

The fact its cleaned up so quick is a testament to the staff's tenacity here.

Honestly there is little to be done but duck , weave and then smack it away.

What do you think about the 'Newest Members' with company names as their avatars and company URLs as their profile homepages? Their profile text also extols the virtues of their company / business - just like an advert.

Oh, and they are all 46 years old...

Yep, tends to happen around midnight EST or PST. A few of us who are up see some really weirdly worded first posts with off site links. The mod staff needs all of us to report those post, links, or profiles to help out in the battle.

Seems to happen on every forum I'm on.
Usually the task of the mods to remove, but is annoying for members.

I'm new here too, and not 46, I'm 34. Don't ban me!

I saw you in the list, but stayed my hand.

Steady hands must wield the ban hammer.
